One Candle Can Tell Two Stories.

Imagine a candle whose high reaches a target and whose low crosses a stop. Its open, high, low and close do not establish which event happened first. Two different trading experiences can leave exactly the same candle behind.

This matters when testing a technical idea. Choosing the sequence that improves the result adds information the dataset never recorded. A defensible test uses finer observations, declares a conservative rule for ambiguous bars, or reports a range of possible outcomes.

Candles are useful summaries, and summaries leave things out. Recognizing the missing path makes discussions of targets and stops more realistic. It also prevents an attractive chart from quietly becoming an invented record of profitable trades.

هذه مشكلة مؤثرة في اختبار أي فكرة فنية. عندما يختار الباحث الترتيب الذي يخدم النتيجة، يضيف إلى البيانات معلومة لم تسجلها. والأدق أن يستخدم بيانات أدق زمنيا، أو يعلن قاعدة محافظة لمعالجة الحالات الملتبسة، أو يعرض حدود النتيجة.

تساعدنا الشموع على تلخيص الحركة، لكنها تحذف جزءا من الطريق. احترام هذا الجزء المفقود يجعل الحديث عن الأهداف والوقف أكثر واقعية، ويمنع تحويل رسم مقنع إلى سجل أرباح متخيل.
